 [[ ELEGY ]]

ELEGY
resmi terbentuk pada 27 Juni 2004, berawal dari kesamaan visi dan misi
tiap-tiap personel untuk membentuk sebuah group band yang bisa dijadikan
sebagai wadah penyaluran ekspresi tiap-tiap personel dalam bermusik,
yang diharapkan bisa menjadi sumbangan yang berarti bagi perkembangan
musik tanah air dan pada dunia kreasi seni di Indonesia. Khususunya bagi komunitas underground.

ELEGY yang berarti Syair Ratapan, sengaja
kami pilih karena semua hasil karya yang kami hasilkan benar-benar
keluar dari dalam diri tiap-tiap personel dan mengangkat hal hal tentang
kegelapan, kematian, keputusasaan, kehancuran, dosa, keindahan, dan
penyesalan. Alasan lain yang melatar belakangi kami memilih nama ELEGY
adalah kami ingin hasil karya kami benar-benar dirasakan meski hasil
karya kami bukan berupa sebuah benda yang bisa disentuh ataupun dilihat.

Jenis Musik ELEGY

Jenis musik yang diusung kebanyakan
berdasarkan kenyataan pahit dalam kehidupan hingga menjadi satu hasil
karya yang utuh dan memiliki makna dan sarat pesan dalam hasil karya
tersebut. Pada akhirnya ELEGY sepakat bahwa aliran yang diusung adalah
Gothic Metal dengan mengambil konsep Shymphony Doom Gothic Metal.

Tujuan
ELEGY bermusik adalah selain sebagai wadah penyaluran bakat dan
ekspresi tiap-tiap personel dalam bermusik, juga sebagai sarana tempat
pencurahan apresiasi hati tiap-tiap personel agar bisa menjadi sebuah
apresiasi yang kreatif dan positif. Selain itu tujuan utama bermusik
dari tiap-tiap personel adalah agar hasil karya dari ELEGY dikenal oleh seluruh lapisan dan golongan masyarakat umumnya dan penikmat musik Underground khususnya.
